OUR MISSION

 

The Boyle Heights Technology YouthSource Center promotes youth achievement by working with families and community partners to create opportunities that help youth reach their education, employment, and personal development goals.

  • Summer Youth

Subsidized work experience/internships for 16-24 year olds through various public and private grants.

SERVICES PROVIDED

 

The BHTYC provides comprehensive case management services that focus on developing youth assets and strengths besides addressing youth barriers. Specifically, we provide:

 

  • Academic Assistance

  • Subsidized Internships

  • Job Training & Placement

  • Career Exploration

  • Vocational Training 

  • Mentoring

  • Leadership Development

  • Social Activities

  • Leadership Development

OUR GRANTS

 

  • WORKFORCE INVESTMENT ACT (WIOA) 
    Program provides intense case management, supportive services, educational assessments, job training and placement to out-of-school, out of work youth.

 

  • GENERAL FUND (GF)
    Program serves in-school youth between the ages of 13-19. Program provides internship opportunities and tutoring assistance, college preparation and college campus tours, along with other recreation activities.

 

  • LOS ANGELES RECONNECTIONS ACADEMY (LARCA)
    Program targets out-of-school youth adults ages 18-24 who are interested in healthcare careers with educational assessment, career coaching, case management, financial literacy, leadership development, and supportive services in partnership with Department of Labor and Los Angeles Unified School District.

 

  • HIGH RISK HIGH NEED (HRHN)
    Program serves orobation youth ages 16-19 referred by school-based Probation Officers.  Services include job readiness and financial literacy training, college preparation, college tours and other youth development activities.

 

  • INTENSIVE TRANSITIONS (YOIT)
    Program serves youth on probation through intensive case management, support services, educational assessments, job training and placement, youth leadership and mentoring services.

 

  • 2ND CHANCE
    Program serves probation youth ages 16-24 through training in green construction technologies.  Program also provides intensive case management, mental health/substance abuse counseling and job readiness training.
